Bethesda, Inc. is the only freestanding facility in Oklahoma devoted exclusively to healing the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.
Since 1982, Bethesda has offered therapeutic services to sexually abused children and to their non-offending caregivers throughout the state of Oklahoma.
The philosophy of Bethesda is that all victims of criminal sexual assault should receive therapeutic counseling and healing treatment without consideration of race, family background or economic status. No child who has been sexually abused and seeks treatment is turned away and no client is charged for our services.
Bethesda’s therapeutic clinical staff is recognized statewide as experts in the field of childhood sexual abuse treatment. Each member of the clinical staff has an advanced degree and has received specialized training in counseling victims of childhood sexual abuse. The specialized treatment programs at Bethesda enable children and their families to safely make the journey from victim to survivor.
Since Bethesda’s creation in 1982, thousands of children and families have received treatment for the painful scars and trauma of sexual abuse. Sadly, the number of children who come to Bethesda for treatment has increased each year, with more than 6,000 served through counseling in 2006.
